January 2012 Civic Reflection Facilitation Open-Call Training

Apr 19 2012

On January 19-20, 2012, the Center for Civic Reflection hosted a two-day open-call civic reflection facilitation workshop with 28 teachers, AmeriCorps staff, librarians, nonprofit staff, higher education administrators, and representatives of faith and interfaith groups in attendance. From Wisconsin to New Hampshire to Singapore, participants came from across the country -- and even across the world -- to gain skills in facilitation and learn how to inspire meaningful, reflective conversation about people's values, communities or commitments.

Overall, the workshop was fantastic. In their evaluations, all participants responded that the January civic reflection facilitation workshop "helped them develop their skills as facilitator" and all but two participants expressed strong interest in leading civic reflection discussions with their own organizations, schools or groups.
