CCR Helps Staff at McCormick Foundation Reflect on Their Work

Apr 26 2012

In the summer of 2011, CCR facilitators led three reflective discussions with staff members from the Civics division at the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.

Over the 3 sessions, the staff looked at Anna Swir’s “The Same Inside,” the image “Tomoko Uemura in Her Bath,” Anna Ahkmatova’s “If All Who Begged Help” and “Wasp Woman Visits a Black Junkie in Prison,” by Etheridge Knight. In the facilitated discussions, they reflected on difference and expectation, on connection and relationship, on priority and outcome, and on impact.

The discussion series was highly appreciated by the staff, who said that these discussions were very different from any other they had in the organization, and they were contemplating how to incorporate reflective dialogue into their regular staff meetings and other contexts.
